Family Enrichment Center Respite Childcare program is intended for families who find themselves with a temporary need for childcare or in need of a break from caring for a child six weeks to five years of age. Families who qualify for the service include those seeking work, families involved with the Department for Community Based Services, those using the services of the Salvation Army, parents with children who have special needs or families working with other local agencies such as BRASS, Potter Christian Home, Hope Harbor, and the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center.
Space may be available at our Wee Care Nursery at 1135 Adams St. The free service is offered on a limited basis, with a maximum use of 30 days per year. However, full time childcare is also offered by Wee Care Childcare Center and funded by United Way of Southern Kentucky. We hope to see families transition from drop-in childcare to our full time service. The goal of the program is to eliminate stress in the family that can be caused by the high cost of childcare, help prepare children for school, and to enable the family to attend school, work or rise above a family crisis that might lead to child abuse or neglect.
